What is Civil Engineering?

Civil engineering is the design and construction of public works, such as dams, bridges, and other large infrastructure projects. It’s a science that includes various disciplines, including soils, structures, geology, and other fields. Civil Engineering has many sub-disciplines.

It is one of the oldest branches of engineering, dating back to when people first started living in permanent settlements and began shaping their environments to suit their needs.

Civil engineers frequently work on complex projects which involve many technical, economic, social, and environmental factors.
